APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION

Intending candidates for the West African Senior School Exam Certificate, WASSCE for Private Candidates 2018/19- First Series are hereby informed that registration would be online.

MODE OF PAYMENT

Candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of thirteen thousand, nine hundred fifty naira N13,950 at any of the approved bank or any accredited agents to obtain the registration pin and information VCD.

REGISTRATION

Candidates must complete online registration within two weeks of first access on the website during registration periods.

They should ensure that their names, gender, passport photographs, date of births and subjects are correct.

They are also to print the admission Photo-card as evidence of registration, this will serve as their photo-card during the examination.

The result checker pin will also be included.

Only Digital Personal Scanner should be used for finger print registration.

E. CANDIDATES WITH DIS-ABILITIES AND IMPAIRMENT

Candidates with disabilities/ impairments will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their disabilities/ impairment e.g blind, low vision, spastics, speech, e.t.c

G. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Candidates should view the Information VCD before they register for the examination.

2. Candidates should note that examination fees are not refundable.

3. Candidates should print the examination Timetable at the completion of their registration.

4. Entries must be uploaded with good quality passport size photographs, not “wait and get” photographs.

The background of such photographs MUST NOT BE BLUE OR RED. The size should be 275 by 314 pixels.

Entries with unacceptable passport photographs will be rejected.

5. Candidates should study the Regulations and Syllabuses as well as the Timetable for the examination which they can download from WAEC’s website (www.waeconline.org.ng ) using their registration PIN.

6. All candidates must go to their examination halls in mufti and without arms. No professional uniform of any kind will be allowed. in the examination hall.

7. The entire results of candidates who sit for the examination in more than one centre will be canceled.

8. Smoking is not allowed in the examination hall.

9. Any candidate that comes into the examination hall with mobile phone and /or electronic or communication gadgets will have his or her entire results cancelled.

10. All candidates must ensure that their entries are correctly uploaded, as the Council will not be held responsible for errors in. candidates’ particulars.

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, for refusing to appear before it.

The committee had, several times, invited Magu to appear before it on a petition by former first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.

It said that Magu should be arrested and presented before it on November 7, after his failure to appear before the panel despite several invitations.

Mrs. Jonathan had some of her accounts frozen by some banks following an investigation launched by the EFCC; but a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered that all her bank accounts should be unfrozen.

The former first lady consequently sent a petition to the House against the EFCC, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, among others, alleging harassment from them.

At the continuation of sitting on the petition in Abuja, the committee, which gave Magu up to October 4 to appear, lamented that the EFCC chairman was nonchalant concerning the matter.

The panel, chaired by Rep Uzoma Nkem-Abonta (Abia-PDP), said it had sent several letters inviting the EFCC chairman to appear before it and clear the air on the directive the commission gave some banks to freeze Mrs. Jonathan’s accounts.

A member of the committee, Rep Kingsley Chinda ( PDP-Rivers), consequently moved that a bench warrant be issued against Magu to appear before the panel on the next adjourned date.

All the members of the committee present at the sitting supported the motion.

The chairman of the committee then ruled that a bench warrant be issued against Magu.

Meanwhile, the committee has directed Mrs. Jonathan’s lawyers to sit with the management of Zenith Bank, Eco Bank, First Bank and Fidelity Bank to address the issue of the court order asking the banks to unfreeze her accounts.

The committee also discharged Union Bank as it fully complied with an earlier directive to unfreeze Mrs. Jonathan’s accounts.

The committee had, a fortnight ago, directed all the affected banks to unfreeze Mrs. Jonathan’s bank accounts that do not have any pending court orders or official communication from the EFCC to do so.

Zinedine Zidane is looking to sign Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Real Madrid boss reportedly an admirer of the German international.”


It’s been a slow start to the season for Real who already trail rivals Barcelona in the league, and the club will look to add to their attacking options in the new year.

Spanish publication Don Balon reports Draxler will be available following PSG’s summer transfer splash.

Julian Draxler is also desperate to be an integral part of the Germany squad at the 2018 World Cup squad but a lack of chances at PSG this term may hinder his chances.

Draxler only arrived at PSG in January and his contract runs until 2021

Only last month Germany coach Joachim Low insisted Draxler wasn’t leaving PSG.

He said: “I know for a fact that Paris don’t want to sell him. They are convinced of his outstanding qualities.”

Since signing for PSG from Wolfsburg in January, Draxler has made 17 appearances and scored four goals.

Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real Madrid a win over Borussia Dortmund as the Portugal star reached another milestone.


Cristiano Ronaldo marked his 400th Real Madrid appearance with two goals as the holders beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in their second Champions League group game.

The 32-year-old netted his 410th and 411th efforts for the club in his 150th UEFA club match after Gareth Bale’s sensational opener had put Madrid in front in what proved to be a thrilling encounter at Signal Iduna Park.

Madrid came into the match having never won away from home against BVB, but Bale’s spectacular volley put them on course for the victory after only 18 minutes.


It was an end-to-end clash that featured chances for either side before Ronaldo celebrated his latest milestone with a composed finish from Bale’s cross.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Dortmund hope of a recovery but Zinedine Zidane’s men made certain of two wins from two in the defence of their trophy as Ronaldo blasted home in the closing stages.

Despite Peter Bosz’s call for caution in Monday’s pre-game news conference, Dortmund pressed Madrid high up the pitch from the kick-off and twice could have fallen behind from early counter-attacks.

First, Dani Carvajal raced into the box down the right only to shoot straight at Roman Burki, before Lukasz Piszczek just denied Bale a tap-in after Ronaldo had surged clear down the same flank.

Madrid were perhaps fortunate to escape a penalty in the 14th minute, though, with Keylor Navas deflecting the ball onto the raised hand of Sergio Ramos after Maximilian Philipp had turned the ball goalwards.

Madrid should have doubled their lead before the break, Ronaldo twice firing wide and captain Ramos missing a free header from six yards out, but it needed a vital interception from Raphael Varane to deny Aubameyang an open goal moments after half-time.

CSKA Moscow had little answer to Manchester United’s front three as the Premier League side eased to a 4-1 UEFA Champions League win.


Romelu Lukaku continued his scintillating start to life at Manchester United with a double in their comfortable 4-1 UEFA Champions League win at overmatched CSKA Moscow.

The Russian side had little answer to Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with United having now netted seven times and conceded just once in their opening two Group A fixtures.

United’s opener in a dominant display at the VEB Arena came in just four minutes as Lukaku powered home a bullet header for his ninth goal in as many games for the club.

Martial sent in the cross for that effort and was quickly in on the act himself from the penalty spot, before also assisting Lukaku’s second of the night.

There was no let-up after the interval from the visitors, with Mkhitaryan finding the target following more excellent work from Martial.

United finally eased off the accelerator thereafter, and a late consolation from substitute Konstantin Kuchaev was the only blot on an otherwise excellent night’s work.

Barcelona were a long way from their best, but a Sebastian Coates own goal handed them all three points against Sporting CP.


Barcelona extended their winning run to eight games in all competitions on Wednesday as they edged past Sporting CP 1-0 in their Champions League clash at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Ernesto Valverde’s side rarely had to get out of second gear to secure a win that puts them in a commanding position at the summit of Group D.

The only goal of the game came just four minutes into the second half, and despite Luis Suarez wheeling away to celebrate, replays showed that the decisive final touch came from Sporting defender Sebastian Coates.

Bruno Fernandes had a wonderful opportunity to claim a share of the spoils for Sporting in the second half but was thwarted by Marc-Andre ter Stegen, as Barcelona held on for a deserved three points.

The Spanish giants will be confident of extending their lead at the top of the group when they host Olympiacos in three weeks. Sporting, meanwhile, face a daunting test against Juventus in Turin.

The head of Jesus The General Assembly Deliverance Outreach Ministries, Pastor Thank God Udechukwu is a man of many talents and among them is his alleged ability to swindle worshippers of their hard earned money.

It was gathered that Pastor Thank God had been spreading the rumour that he was related to a renowned catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka and that has contributed to the swiftness of his operation.

The venue of these holy trickeries is the church vigil ground at No 16 Nwachukwu Drive, Okota Road, Lagos State.

There he uses his influence to gain trust from his worshippers who at the end of the day entrust him with their money.

Evasive pastor

It was gathered that the ministry is not run as a church per se; Pastor ThankGod holds only vigil at the ground, which is communicated to the worshippers whenever he feels they need to worship.

When Saturday Sun visited the church venue, the ground was locked up with pieces of electric wire. The church was built with plywood and looked abandoned.

When the whereabouts of the pastor was sought, the person who was in the church premises told the reporter that the pastor only sees people on appointment and he must be reached on personal cell phone, yet he refused to give out the pastor’s number.

Victim’s ordeal

Narrating his ordeal in tears, Ben Chukwu, who hails from Ebonyi said that the pastor’s actions would have made him lose faith in christianity if not that he is a strong believer.

He thought he has seen a sanctuary for him and his family to worship God and grow in faith.

“When I joined the ministry in April 2015, I was thinking it was going to be like a church which was making me have cold feet, but as time passed, I began to like the ministry but then the pastor would call for assistance which I would provide; most time it does not go beyond 10,000,” he stated.

As a good businessman, Ben decided to diversify his business and before doing that, he also wanted to put God first.

“The kind of business I do, suffers breakdown during rainy season and winter, that made me look for alternatives, so that my family will not suffer.

“At first, I told my agent that I wanted a big store for a supermarket, after getting one for me, he advised me to pray about it and that was how I called my pastor. I invited him over,” he added.

Ben invited Pastor ThankGod into his house believing that he has invited the heavenly host and as such, his business is assured.

“It was during the discussion and prayer sessions that he said that God revealed to him that the business was going to crash.

He later told me that he had someone who is into importation of tiles and he was doing well and by investing in that line of business, I would not need much work force, only a personal secretary.

“I accepted and he gave me the person’s number, Mr Anthony Chukwu, who the pastor claimed is a member of the church.

Anthony confirmed that he was into importation of tiles and with N1.3m I could become an importer. He said the business was a joint business and once the goods were cleared I would have my share.

I then transferred the money into his account. After one month, Anthony called me that they needed money for loading and shipment.

“From that day onwards, I was getting confusing and contradictory stories. It got to a point that they told me that someone else would take over my business and would pay me back after selling the goods.

I called the pastor and told him, he said that I should not bother that my goods will come and when I was fed up this same pastor told me that he would use his influence to make sure that my money was remitted to me.

“During this period, they also called me that I needed to bring N250, 000 to clear the goods, I told them that I would not pay until I see my goods.

I decided to report the case to the police last week Monday and they found out that Anthony has been a crony for the pastor.

I trusted him because I felt I was dealing with a renowned family. The pastor told me that he is related to Rev. Mbaka and I confirmed it. It was part of what I heard that led me to the ministry,” he stated.

Pastor reacts

When Saturday Sun confronted Pastor Thankgod with the allegations, he didn’t deny them.

“I think I have a case like that and we are trying to resolve it. If this is your number, I will call you to give you full details”, he stated but never called back as promised.

Dear respected ladies, there exist some rules of engagement that many ladies fail. You are engaged now, really, what next? Yes, it is marriage fever next! But did I mention you are only engaged but not married, yet?

Some reasons why most ladies feel used and dumped is when they get intoxicated by the ring affixed to their finger by some guy and the guy does not show up thereafter, maybe, after having her countless times!

Let’s cite some areas that get ladies intoxicated while wearing the ring:

1. You are only engaged not married.

I understand you must feel like a wife already but the fat truth is, you are not his wife yet but a name in his wife-list. Do you know? I bet you do not. Do not be overjoyed by the ring, rather be overjoyed by the wedding night. Ladies should keep their body untouched while hanging around the person you are engaged to.

Yes, you may say ‘I’m his wife to be so it does not matter if I give him my body.’ Another piece of truth there is, notwithstanding that the body is yours, you really are not his wife to be until you become his wife! During that period, men may propose to ladies who they think are outstanding, special and better than any other ladies in the world.

Have you imagined; what if he thinks you so cheap and sees a more outstanding a lady who has your clone qualities but deprives him sex which you give him in plenty buckets? Oh dear, he has slept with you so, that ‘special you’ bar is decreasing and will continue to decrease any female pride you may have shown, even peradventure, you get married. He may even end up dumping you politely and going for someone better(that part that you feel you have been over-used).

What is my point?

Don’t you have sex with the person you are engaged to. Keep your pride. Tell them simply should they try to deceive you saying ‘you are my wife to be already, so you shouldn’t deprive me sex.’

Dear, stand for your rights and what will help you afterwards, tell him, also logically that ‘yes, I maybe your wife to be, so, if I am your ‘so wife to be’, why can’t you wait till the wedding night? ‘

Tips: Ladies who don’t indulge in sex before marriage earn more respect, longer marriage than others. Reason is, their husbands seem to keep that first respect she has shown. Failure to observe the rule of engagements may lead to regrets.

2. Most men giving engagement rings are not ready for marriage. Don’t get ensnared by this. This is a cup-filled reason you have to always study your partner in the course of dating them. They will only hover around you longing for the juicy hannah montanna. Yes, they are humans, they know most girls will get lured wearing their deceptive rings.

3. When you find someone good, stop looking for someone better. It explains itself. Use your instinctual calculating brain-book to harness the equation.

4. Stop longing to wear a guys’ ring, you are NOT the lord of their rings. Yes, I understand that age doesn’t favour women when not married but even at that, don’t be desperate to wear a guy’s ring.

Guys, normally do notice desperate ladies when it comes to marriages and the wolf-like may come to hang their ‘ring’ on your finger to have you then disappears, then, this chase for marriage may end in suffeRING.

Facebook users are demanding an explanation for the death of a Ghana-based Nigerian lady,  Vera Udechukwu, who was killed two weeks after her traditional wedding in August. It was also gathered that her husband, is already on the run.

Here’s what Facebook user, Onyebuchi Ememanka, who shared the sad story online, wrote;

    “”WHO KILLED MISS VERA UDECHUKWU?”, the Onyebuchi said Vera was found dead in her husband’s apartment in Ghana on September 10th and up till now, no one knows the cause of her death as he husband is currently on the run. Read what was posted online below

    Ladies and gentleman,

    In the interest of justice and public safety, I am compelled to make this sad story public. I simply could not stomach it.

    The story was brought to my attention by a friend and I am convinced that the public should know about it and be on guard.

    Miss Vera Udechukwu is, sorry, was an indigene of Oba in Anambra State. She was 24 years old.
    She met and fell in love with a young man called Jerry Ugochukwu Ohale, an indigene of Urualla, Ideato in Imo State. The guy is based in Ghana. They decided to get married.

    Late August this year, they did their traditional wedding at Oba and the girl joined the husband in Ghana immediately after and they started planning their white wedding.

    Then tragedy struck!

    Barely two weeks after the traditional wedding, precisely on the 10th of September 2017, Vera was murdered in cold blood. The Ghana Police authorities discovered her body and managed to establish contact with her family in Nigeria. The family was contacted the next day, September 11, 2017.

    The intriguing part is that the husband, Jerry, is nowhere to be seen. The Police in Ghana has since launched a manhunt for him. They suspect he has fled Ghana and returned to Nigeria.

    Preliminary investigations by the Ghana Police show that the girl was brutally tortured to death. She was killed in the most gruesome circumstances.

    Many questions arise.

    Who killed this young lady?

    Could it be her husband?

    Why is the guy on the run?

    Why has he disappeared?

    Meanwhile, the girl’s family is naturally distraught. They don’t understand how their daughter whom they barely gave out in marriage barely few weeks ago is now dead.

    As we speak, the family is battling to retrieve the corpse of their daughter from the Police in Ghana and send the body home to Nigeria for burial.

    Sadly, the girl’s family is not even sure of what their in-law does for a living. Their daughter simply told them that he is an international businessman.
