THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 6
NATU HEADQUATERS LAGOS NIGERIA, 21ST OCTOBER 2013.
Sani Madawaki came down from his office which was located upstairs in the NATU building. He was the director of NATU.
The ‘nigerian anti-terrorist unit’ was formed in the year 2011 to curb the bokoharam crises. 500men were chosen from the nigerian police force, nigerian army, navy and all other military and paramilitary organizations to form NATU. In 2012, they went to the united states for intelligence training and came back later that same year. They where posted to all the bokoharam infested communities but due to constant collision with the JTF and coupled with the fact that members of bokoharam had escaped from those areas, the nigerian government decided to post them to other states to aid intelligence.
250 of those men were posted to lagos state, the rest were posted to other geographic locations but have since stopped working due to the backlog of salaries they are been owed. According to the federal government, the formation of NATU was illegal and it was duplication of office since other military groups can do their jobs. Lagos state government however accepted NATU and have been paying them.
“Jimmy, i just received a call from the commisioner of police, a sniper shot someone in the court in ikoyi. Check for any storybuilding inside 15metre radius in the court premises” sani instructed
“Got it” Jimmy replied. He was pretty fast. He was a computer operator in NATU.
There are 4 storybuildings in that location But according to reports, the bullet came at an angle of 45° which leaves us with only the Gmax building”
“Good job Jimmy, any traffic camera in the location?” sani asked.
“Even if there is a traffic cam, it wont be able to get the suspent, he was in the sixth floor” Jimmy replied
“fuucckk it!” sani exclaimed. He doesnt like working under pressure,it makes him look like a newbie.
“Although, i think we can use satellite imageries” Jimmy chipped in.
“Nah!! It wont give us the facial properties of the victim”
“I know, but we can use it to know his location. Jimmy said.
“Do it” sani said with a tone of finality and walked back to his office.

Barrister clement was still on the floor, he had just been shot on his arm. All the police officers had since fled the court. Mr. Jacobs was whisked away using the blackmaria. Few minutes later, soldier officers arrived the location and cleared everybody out of the court. The case was adjourned till further notice.
Meanwhile, agent white was still suprised how he missed. Barrister clement had put his hands at akimbo and agent white wanted to shoot through the hole formed by his hand but immediately he wanted to pull the trigger, Barrister briggs brought his hands down. White wanted to abort but it was too late, he had already pulled the trigger. The bullet met Barrister Clement on his arm. Before he could adjust and aim, the courtroom had become rowdy. He didn’t see Grace again and every other person Had taken cover. He had failed in his operation.
Paul adeyemi walked into a building. He slid his keycard at the slot and used his fingerprint. The door opened at once. He entered and met three men inside.
“Where is agent white?” he asked.
“he is not yet back, one of the men answered him”. He did as if he wanted to unbotton his shirt and he brought out a little camera. It was the camera that the people in the building where using to monitor the court session. You would never know there was a camera there, you will only see his silver coloured large button.
He paced around the hall for a few seconds, removed his wristwatch and slammed it on the wall.
“we failed!!!” he shouted.
*****************************
“Jimmy what have you got?” sani asked, coming down from his office.
“I used satellite and i got our man, he came down from the Gmax building at exactly 1:20pm. I switched to street cam to view his face but it looks like he is a proffesional, he was putting on a hood and bent his head so i wasn’t able to see his face” Jimmy explained.
“You mean you lost him?” sani asked impatiently.
“chill!! He entered into the mall by the street. 45minutes later he came out and i sent agent musa to stalk him. We got his address, we are just waiting for your orders to arrest him.” jimmy explained.
“Jimmy, thats a decoy, the real shooter must have escaped through another route or is still in the mall” sani said.
“Not according to neighboors” Jimmy chipped in.
His neighbours claimed he Is an armedrobber who had been terrorising the area and just recently, he has been seen with strange faces”
“Jimmy this is terrorism we are talking about, not petty robbery” sani explained.
“It still doesn’t hurt to bring him in for questioning. He is our only viable lead” Jimmy advised.
“Okay then, call agent musa, tell him to go with few other field agents” sani said. Just then his phone rang and he picked it. It was the special advicer to the governor on security matters. Sani picked the call. The special adviser just wanted to know how far they where with the investigation.
“we have a suspect sir, we are bringing him in for questioning as we speak” sani replied and the line went dead.

THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 7
Agent white walked into the building dejectedly. He dropped the bag containing his sniper on the table and located a chair to sit without caring about the four men who were staring at him.
“Tunde what went wrong?” Paul asked. Tunde was white’s real name. They only use their various pseudos when going for operations.
“It was just some technical glitches” white replied.
“Hope you weren’t followed” one of the men who had been silent asked.
“Can they follow shadow? I made sure they lost track of me” white replied.
“Good. We just received intel that Grace has been admitted in Blue-cross Hospital” Paul informed him.
“Alright then, i will have to finish what i started” white said.
“Nah mehn, i’ll just have to visit an old friend” Paul said and smiled.

A Hilux van drove into the NATU building and went straight to the parking lot and parked.
The driver first came out then four other men came out. One had handcuffs on his hand and from the look in his eyes, you can tell he was in a sorry state.
Two men led him into the building while the remaining men stood outside gisting. Immediately sani saw the men he went towards them.
“Good job agents.” he said
“Take him to the holding room. I will be there in 15minutes.”
The two men led him to the left wing of the building and followed a single lane route which led to the holding room.
“Jimmy i want you to pull his records for me” sani said to jimmy.
“Am on it” he replied.

Instead of the normal police station where Jacobs was previously kept, he was transported to the kiri kiri maximum prison located in ojo, Lagos. According to the policemen, it was for his own safety as the kiri kiri prison is more secured than the police cell. Jacobs had protested and wanted to call his lawyer but he remembered that his lawyer had been shot so he resigned to fate. The prisoners he saw there were not smiling. They all had this ‘dangerous aura’ radiating from their body. He stood there looking like a kid who was entering his class for the first time.
“Come, na ajebor you come form for prison? Shey our face look like television” someone asked him. He didn’t know how to reply him so he just stood there and continued staring at them like a scarecrow.
“You be kuruma abi? Oya skido go draw that guy come here” he ordered.
A huge guy stood up and started advancing towards him. He nearly fainted only looking at the guy’s biceps. The guy just came and hung his hand across Jacobs neck.
“Make una leave this one, him never dey used to here naim make” the guy spoke.
“Attah wetin be your own na? Na the third prisoner wey you don save today be this o, make e do you o” the guy barked. Attah didn’t reply him, he just drew Jacobs to one corner and they started chatting.
*****************************
Sani walked into the holding room with a file in his hand. He came with one other man. He started reading from his file
“Philip mba, arrested for armedrobbery, grantheft auto. Convicted once and is just coming out of prison.
Tell me, do they have sniper classes in the prison”
“I dont know what you are talking about” philip replied.
“You see this man here, he is a former police officer. He is trained to inflict pain without remorse”
The man dropped his bag, opened it and brought out it’s content. Inside the bag was one pressing iron, one ‘talk true’ and an electric wire.
Sani brought out a picture and showed him. The man in the picture wore a black hood and a khaki, he was bending his head so his face wasn’t visible.
“Thats not me, i dont bend my head when walking” he replied. By this time, the other man had already plugged the pressing iron to an electric source, philip swallowed saliva when he saw it.
“But you were wearing this same cloth in the same area at the same time we were looking for this man. Is that a coincident?” sani asked.
Philip started getting the connection.
“i can explain” he shouted
“start talking” sani said.
“I was in that mall when a young girl was passing without looking up. She was holding a liquid. Before i could stop her, she hit me and the liquid poured on my cloth. A youngman who was watching the whole event bought this cloth for me. I even saw when he bought it. I had to wear the new cloth because i was getting late for an event.” philip explained
The two men weren’t satisfied with the explanation. The other man raised philip’s shirt and use the hot iron to press his skin. Philip shouted, his screams filled the whole room.

Doctor the patient at ward 18 just woke up and is requesting to see you” a nurse informed Dr. Amos.
“I will be there soon” Dr. Amos replied.
Meanwhile, in ward 18, Grace had just woke up from sleep and the first person she saw was paul.
“Hello sweetheart” he said.
She wanted to scream but he quickly covered her mouth with his hand.
“shhhhhhh!!!! am not here to kill you” he said.
“Am just gonna give you this injection and you will go into a long sleep. When you wake up, you might be lucky to remember your name”
Dr. Amos was walking fast, he was about reaching ward 18 when nurse Amaka called him.
“Dr, you are supposed to be in the theater” she said.
“yes, i’ll be there shortly, Dr. Mark is already there” he said and wanted to go when the nurse held his arm.
“what is it Amaka?” he asked.
“Its just that Dr. Mark is relatively new to suggery, i think you should be there” she said.
“Dont worry Amaka, i will be there as soon as i finish from this ward” he replied and still wanted to go but Amaka still held his arm.
“Remember our date?” she asked, smiling mischiviously
“i do, Dr” Amos replied.
“can i go now?”
Amaka was still thinking when he turned and started going. Amaka ran after him but she was too late, he opened the door to ward 18 and entered.

THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 8
Being tagged a criminal is very dangerous in nigeria especially when a police officer is involved. The interrogation method is so crude but yet ‘overly efficient’.
Overly efficient in the sense that even an innocent person could admit to commiting a crime he knows nothing about just to avoid the pains of interrogation.
Philip was unlucky as he had been trapped in the webs of interrogation in the nigerian style.
His flesh was designed with an iron. It got to a time when the iron was removed and replaced with Unclad wire that was used to electricute philip.
His wailing and weeping sounded like a meloudious tone for the man who was busy doing a wonderful job of making philip cry like a baby.
Philip increased his shout to draw attention from outside but the hall was sound proof as only those inside the room could hear him shout.
“I swear, i dont know anything about a sniper” philip said while crying.
“Shut up!!” the man shouted and increased the voltage of the iron.
Samson who had been standing outside all this while, entered the room.
“Excuse me sir” he said.
“Yes? Samson, whats the problem?” sani asked
“i think the polygraph would be a more efficient method sir” samson replied.
“Polygraph? I thought it was faulty?” sani asked.
“it has been rectified sir”
“Okay then, lets use the polygraph” sani concluded.
The polygraph was brought and it was tested with already verified questions like ‘is your name philip mba?’ ‘have you stolen before?’ when the result of the Polygraph were displayed, it showed that it was in excellent condition so it was consequently used. After the questioning, it was shown that philip was innocent all along and he was just used as a decoy to facilitate the real culprit’s escape.
Sani was pained. He went out to the main hall and summoned everybody.
“Look up everybody” he said
“There is a sniper out there and the state government is on our necks. This is a new trend in Nigeria and the government wants us to nip it by the bud before it spreads like bombing. We had the wrong suspect and now we are back to nowhere. I want all our resources to be put into finding this criminals. Suspend whatever you are doing that is not related to this case. This is priority 1” with that , he walked to his office. Jimmy was calling him but he didn’t reply. He blamed Jimmy for taking the bait. He knew it was a false flag from the beginning but Jimmy didn’t see it.
*****************************
Attah and Jacobs got along pretty fast. In no time they had began gisting like old time acquaintance.
“so tell me, what brought you here?” Attah asked
Jacobs sighed and explained everything to him.
“You mean paul Adeyemi did this to you?” Attah asked
“Do you know him?” Jacobs asked his own question.
“yes ofcourse, he’s the reason i’m in prison”
“how do you mean?” Jacobs asked.
“2 years ago, some soldier officers went to ivory coast for peace keeping when ousted president Laurent gbagbo refused to vacate office. 5soldiers in that troupe Where diverted to pakistan for special training in every form of terrorism” Attah explained.
“Who diverted them?” Jacobs asked.
“The then minister for defence, rt.gen Shola Ajayi.
“he had trained them for his special use as thugs for the upcoming election”
“paul was one of them. They call themselves the invisible quartet. They are invisible because they leave normal lives as soldiermen but they are very dangerous. I had so much information about them that could put them behind bars for good, so they set me up”
“Why didn’t they kill you, why did they set you up?” Jacobs asked in suprise.
“You underestimate the power of an igalaman, even bullets respect us” Attah bragged.
“so how were you set up?”
“They stashed cocaine in my room and tipped the police. I was arrested and sentenced to 15years in prison” Attah explained.
Jacobs wanted to ask why his igala jazz failed him but he kept quiet.
“look we can help each other. I can help you get justice while you help me end the invisible quartet”
“I would have loved to but am also in prison, there is nothing i can do” Jacobs explained.
“Actually there is something you can do, but first we need to make a call”
“We are in prison, how is that possible?” Jacobs asked.
“Dont worry about that, we have our way in the prison”
Warder come o, i wan make call” Attah shouted.
The warder came quickly.
“1minute na 100naira o” he informed them.
“No wahala” Attah assured him.
*******************************
Amaka was still chasing Dr.Amos but he quickly went in. He met the room empty save for grace who was sleeping peacefully. Just then, his phone rang.
“Hello” he answered the call.
“Amos, its me Jacobs” the caller said. Amos was shocked but he composed himself.
“How is my wife” Jacobs asked.
“thats the problem, i was told she was awake but when i came she was still sleeping. Her temperature is very low, her pulse is weak and her heart beat is faint.
“remember me in hell” Attah whispered
“What?” Jacobs gave him an inquiring look.
“it is a drug they use to cause permanent amnesia. When your wife wakes, she will have total memory loss” Attah explained.
“Although i read of its antidote, but am not too sure of its preparation. Tell your friend we’ll text him the preparation of the antidote.
Jacobs relayed the information and they ended the call. Few minutes later, a text came into Dr. Amos’ cell. It contained the reagents for the antidote and its preparation. Dr. Amos knew most of the reagents and he had them at home except one. He quickly put a call across to Amaka to check for the reagent in the hospital lab. After waiting, he went after Nurse amaka but she said the reagent wasn’t in the hospital.
“When is the next supplies” Dr. Amos asked
“Tomorrow” she replied.
The text indicated that the antidote must be given before five hours of the drug’s infection. Dr.Amos walked back to his office dejectedly. As soon as he left, Amaka removed the reagent from where she was hiding it and smiled.
As soon as Dr. Amos reached his office, he started thinking. All of a sudden a name came to his head.
“David” he shouted and reached for his phone.

THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 9
Jacobs and Attah sat quietly in the prison. Jacobs couldn’t believe his ears. His wife was going to wake up only to forget everything she had ever known including him, that is if Dr. Amos fails in his assignment.
The invisible quartet were very sharp, they figured if they left Grace to testify, she will implicate paul Adeyemi and if they killed her, it will raise suspicions so the best thing to do was to make her forget everything including her name.
“How come you know so much about them?” Jacobs broke the silence.
“I’v been following them ever since the death of Shola Ajayi. I knew his death wasn’t odinary so i launched an investigation into the case.
After their training in pakistan, the invisible quartet went back to Ivory coast to join their colleagues in the peace keeping mission. Remember, the minister died when adressing the soldiers after they returned from the peacekeeping mission.
The invisible Quartet knew that the minister was only trying to use them for his selfish gains so they killed him in that occasion” Attah explained.
“You mean, Shola Ajayi was murdered? I thought he just slumped and died”
“That was what everybody believed. Infact the autopsy report showed that he died of heart attack but it was Paul Adeyemi who personally killed him.
Remember when the minister shook hands with all the returning soldiers? It was at that point that paul killed him. Inbetween paul’s index and middle finger was a highly poisonous substance. When the minister shook hands With paul, he quickly used the substance to pierce the minister just above his wrist. It was relatively painless and the minister didn’t know what went on.
The substance has high affinity for magnesium so it went straight to the heart which has a rich supply of the mineral. While in the heart it carries out its work of causing cardiac arrest. First the heartbeat increases thereby transporting the blood at a relatively faster rate. The substance is then transported to the liver through the hepatic portal artery. It is in the liver that the substance gets detoxificated and transported to the epidermal cell of the skin. It is then excreated as crystals through the sweatpore.
This happens at a pretty fast rate such that, when the victim dies and a test is done, the substance would not be found in the bloodstream of the victim” Attah explained.
“Even though i didn’t understand most of the things you just said, am sure it must have been a highly complex procedure. Well, i also have a shocker for you”
In the university, I and Amos and Clement where best of pals. Infact we were called the three musketeers.” Jacobs informed him
“Thats great. Attah exclaimed, i would love to see the three musketeers versus the invisible quartet”
Dr. Amos picked up his phone and dialed David’s number. David was a guy he met in the university,he is a first class graduate of biochemistry. Despite his good grades, David rejected every job offered him. His final project in the university was to
Study the chemical method of increasing the blood’s cluster of differientiation 4(cd4) count after HIV infection.
He did the preliminaries in his project but after his graduation, he felt his project gave him an insight into finding the cure to HIV.
Upon graduation, David has been living a secluded live as the only thing he does was mixing chemicals to give him a required recipe. His friends had all aboundoned him since he didn’t have enough time for them. If they is anywhere Dr. Amos can get his reagent, then it has to be from David.
After the fourth ring, David finally picked up his phone. He had been searching for the phone since morning but he didn’t see it. He later found it inside his conical flask when the phone rang.
“Whatsup Davo” Amos said immediately David picked the call.
David didn’t allow Amos to land before he began bombarding him with his discoveries.
“Hey doc! I think i’v found the cure to HIV. Look, i know this sounds crazy but i found a drug that can kill someone for approximately 1hour and the antidote can be used to revive the victim. You know the HIV virus only survives in a living medium so when the host dies, it also dies. In the 1hour period when the victim is temporarily dead, i can purge the Hiv virus out if his system using my wonder drug” David explained excitedly.
“waoh!! I’m happy for you” Amos played along.
“yesso, i will also develop a drug to cure highly advanced cancer. The idea is….” David wanted to continue but Dr.Amos cut him Short.
“Do you have Benzodiazepine? He asked.
“Yes, i have what do you want…”
“Dont worry, i’ll be in your doorstep in a short while” Dr. Amos said and ended the call. He reached for his keys and quickly went to his car.
In less than 20minutes he was already in David’s house, thanks to his knowlege of shortcuts.
He sounded the door bell but he got no reply, he knocked and still got no reply so he barged in.
He was looking around the room and was wondering while the room was so unkept. All of a sudden, someone shouted and jumped out of nowhere.
Amos was shocked but he held himself and turned only to see David standing with a knife in his hand. He was Unclad save for the towel he tied round his waist. His hair was bushy and his beard were overgrown.
“whatsup doc” he said.
“David, why are you holding a knife” Amos asked, scared.
“Knife? David asked, suprised and then looked at his hand.
“i thought it was a spatula” he exclaimed.
“so where is the Benzodiazepine? Amos asked.
“follow me David said and led him to the bathroom. He went to the bathtub and brought out a testtube.
“this is hydroquinol” David told him.
“many people think hydroquinol is dangerous and can cause cancer but my experiments show that the product of the oxidation of hydroquinol in the presence of aliphatic amines gives you quinone which infact can be used to cure cancer”
“Okay, thats good” Amos said trying to be time concious. He knew better than to rush David. If he rushes David, he just might Get angry and drive him out of his house.
“one other thing doc, i urinated and discovered it had a ph of 3.8 so i used it as a medium to save some of my reagents” david imformed him.
“you mean your urine was that acidic and you didn’t see a doctor?” Amos wanted to ask him if he smokes but he already knew the answer. Smoking could lead to kidney problem and this makes the patient to produce acidic urine(smokers beware).
“nah nah nah… I dont need a doc,i can take care of myself” he said.
He then led Dr.Amos to his kitchen where he kept the Benzodiazepine.
Dr. Amos collected it and rushed out immediately
“goodluck which your HIV drug” he shouted and bolted out of the house. In his joy, he forgot to follow his shortcut. He drove on the mainroad and encountered traffic jam. He looked at his front and he couldn’t see the end. He wanted to go back but he was already trapped. He looked at his wrist watch, he had 3hours 30minutes left.

THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 10
Sani was under pressure from the state government to arrest the guy with the sniper but he didn’t even have any clue as to where to find him. Just some few minutes back, the governor called him and was threatening to involve the nigerian army if NATU fails to do their job.
This is one of the most tasking mission NATU is embarking on and the state government might decide to scrap them if there were not efficient. All this and many more problems on his neck made him to regret why he left his Job in the sss just to become the director of NATU.
If things go wrong and they don’t find a way to change the status quo of events, then they might as well start learning trade because the government would not hesitate to scrap them and they will become jobless just like their colleagues in the other states.
He thought about the mouths he was supposed to feed, how on earth would he cater for his family when he gets sack? Perhaps all this wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t listened to jimmy’s opinion.
But jimmy had been his trusted man in the corperation. If there are any two people sani trusts in his corperation then it has to be Jimmy and agent Musa.
He quickly called Jimmy.
“Jimmy Nwachukwu” Jimmy replied as soon as he picked the call.
“are you guys making headways?” sani asked
“I think you might want to see this” Jimmy replied.
Sani dropped the phone and smiled. This is one of the reasons he liked Jimmy, he is very efficient.
A well dressed man on suit walked into the prison Yard. He was looking corperate as if he was going for a business meeting. He was holding a black leather.
“Good afternoon officer” he greeted the warder on duty.
“Ehm.. Good afternoon, wetin i fit do for you?
“Ehm.. Officer i want…” he was saying something when his phone rang.
“Hello. he picked the call.
What!!! My daughter got an accident? I will be there right away” he said and ended the call.
“Ehm, officer no vex, them just call me say my daughter get accident, i been wan see my friend but i no go fit see am again, just help me give am this food, him name na Olundare jacobs, na yesterday them transfer am come here” he handed the officer the leather.
“Tell am say na Dr. Amos bring am” he said.
“Oga, no be police station we they, na prison. We no dey collect food here, we the feed them” The warder informed him.
“Ah officer, na my friend o, and na him call me say make i bring food for am” The man said.
“Oya taste the food” the warder commanded.
“Oga na there small wahala dey. I get ulcer and pepper dey that food. My doctor say make i no eat pepper” he informed the warder and handed him some naira notes.
“just use this one buy pure water” he said.
The warder collected the money with smiles on his face.
“wetin be your friend name again?” he asked.
“Na Olundare jacobs” the man replied, stood up and left. When he got outside, he brought out his phone and dialed a number.
“mission accomplished” he said and ended the call.
The warder took the food to Jacobs.
“Olundare Jacobs” he called out. Jacobs bolted up immediately and went to the man.
“Dr. Amos say make i give you this food” he informed him.
Jacobs gracefully took the food and went to his corner to sit. Attah was snoring as he was fast asleep. Jacobs opened the food and saw the lap of an unlucky chicken sitting comfortably on a fried rice which looked very palatable. He swallowed saliva.
“This is going to be a wonderful meal” he thought.
Dr. Amos almost spoilt his car horn as if that would make the cars in front of him disappear. Sometimes he wished he lived in a less busy town.
He was sweating profusely and he didn’t even care, all he cared about was to prepare the antidote for his patient. He had spent close to thirty minutes in the hold up and he hasn’t even moved his car. An idea popped to his head. He picked up his phone and called his mechanic. In 20minutes time the mechanic was there. He handed over the key to his car to the mechanic and quickly crossed to the other lane where the hold up wasn’t as much as the one he parked his car. His plan was to follow one of his shortcut and when he gets to a clear road, he would stop a public transport vehicle. He looked at his Benzodiazepine which he rapped in a black leather and smiled.
He was about going when a bike came from behind and snatched the leather from his hand.

Dagrin’s younger brother who goes by the name “TROD” has promised to put in all his best to get all the attention to sit on the Throne Dagrin left behind and with this short freestyle, We believe he can do it.
Watch his Freestyle below:-

Division is at its finest in the Samsung cell phone lineup. That is the manner by which we have the whole letter set of arrangement with a modest bunch of models in each of them. Close to the base of the natural pecking order – which is not the slightest bit arranged one after another in order – the massively effective J arrangement is the place to get great incentive for cash, and the Galaxy J5 (2017) is prepared to oblige.

At 5.2 creeps of screen corner to corner, the Galaxy J5 (2017) fits between the 5-inch J3 (2017) and the 5.5-inch J7 (2017). From that point on it takes some watchful adjusting between those two extremes to collect a J5 that will be that greatly improved than the J3 without being in the same class as the J7. Maybe in particular, the J5 during the current year gets the Exynos 7870 SoC – an appropriate 14nm chip with an octa-center CPU, instead of the quad-center Snapdragon 410 that powers the J5 (2016).

With just the J7 treated to full-HD, the J5 has a 720p screen – which is adequate considering the littler inclining. In addition, the J7 (2016’s) business figures didn’t appear to be harmed by its own 720p show, a 5.5-inch corner to corner there, also that the Mali-T830MP2 GPU acknowledges the lower heap of less pixels. There’s no dependably in plain view on the J5, not at all like the J7, and that is somewhat of a misuse of AMOLED.

The J7 (2017) accompanies 3GB of RAM in every one of its incarnations, however the J5 just has 2 gigs, with the exception of a Pro form that matches the huge brother. Capacity is not as much as liberal as well, with the universal variant getting only 16GB, however it’s twofold that in a few areas – recollect, division.

The cameras originate from the J7, and not the J3, which is great, regardless of the possibility that we weren’t elate about the J7’s yield. The general body configuration is indistinguishable to the bigger model’s, which makes the J3 resemble an individual from an alternate family. Moreover, you do get a unique finger impression peruser with the J5 (2017); the essential J3 is denied that.

There’s no denying the usefulness of a dedicated microSD slot, and we’ve got nothing but praise for Samsung for going this route with the J-series. That said, it’s no substitute for decent internal storage. The lack of quick charging is a nuisance but hardly a deal-breaker, and while microUSB is yesterday’s interface, at least you’ll probably have a use of legacy chargers and cables.

o, is the Galaxy J5 (2017) a J7 for big-screen haters, or is it the archetype of a full-featured droid on a budget? We’ll find out on the following pages, starting with the hardware overview.

Former militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a “photo President” whom Nigerian leaders rush to London to see.

Dokubo, who made the claim in a video, which surfaced online also maintained that the independence of Biafra remains the only thing that can guarantee some eminent Nigerians security.

According to Dokubo, “Nigerian president is a ghost, photo president. People go to London to take snap shots with the President, please tell me did Nigerians voted photograph?

”Your President is now a picture, is that not “juju” is it not when our fathers die in Ijaw land that we curve them and keep them at home and pour libation, we have to rise up and know who we are.

“The only thing that can guarantee our freedom is the independence of Biafra, there is no two ways about.

“Goodluck, Diezani, Charlyboy can pretend all they want but the only security for him is the independence of Biafra and we are capable of achieving it.

“The independence of Biafra is the only basis for our existence as a people.”

Isco has signed a new four-year deal at Real Madrid

The Spanish international had less than 12 months to run on his existing deal at the Bernabeu and had been sensationally linked with a move to rivals Barcelona as well as Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, according to AS, Isco has signed a new four-year deal with the option of a further year following his man of the match display against Manchester United in the Super Cup.

Real Madrid have conducted lengthy negotiations with the playmaker and AS claim they’ve inserted an astronomical €700m (£647m) release clause into the Spaniard’s new deal.

Zinedine Zidane’s side are clearly wary having seen Neymar leave Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain after the French club met the Brazilian’s £198m clause.

Isco replaced Gareth Bale in Madrid’s starting line-up last season and his new contract will fuel speculation that the Welshman is on his way out of the Bernabeu.

Bale maintains he’s happy to stay with Los Blancos but, with the possible arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, he could find himself further down the pecking order.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has said he is prepared to take “risks” with his team selection against Burnely, hinting that Michy Batshuayi could start ahead of Alvaro Morata.

The Blues spent a club-record £70million to land Morata from Real Madrid this summer, but the Spain striker has struggled so far.

Conte told the club’s official website: “It’s a great possibility for Michy. He has played every [pre-season] game from the start and it’s very important for him to play well.

“Michy is working very well, he is putting 120 per cent in every moment during the training session and during the game. We are talking about a young player. He needs to develop, but for sure he is trying to put his best in every moment of the day.

“We worked very hard with him last season. He didn’t play a lot but I think he adapted himself to our style of football. He has a lot of space to improve, he is a young player and he needs to continue to work and to improve.”

Conte also made it clear he will have no problem making tough decisions this season, as they compete in the Premier League and Champions League.

He added: “I have always worked with great pressure. It’s normal.

“It’s important to face the pressure in the right way. Sometimes you are more serious, sometimes you laugh. It’s important to have this habit to face the pressure.

“For young players it is difficult because they are not used to the pressure. They can pay for the pressure.

“It’s very difficult to judge a young player only during the training session, but there are moments you have to take risks because you don’t have other possibilities and you have to go with the young player.”

It’s money rain in the latest video from G-Worldwide act Sugarboy as he presents the video to “Jofunmi” a fan favorite off his debut album “Believe”.

In the video directed by Clarence Peters, Sugarboy is seen buried under wads of cash asking his muse to please dance for him. The use of vivid colors in the video reinforces the upbeat mood of the track and is sure to gain new fans for the dancehall artiste.

Chelsea record signing, Alvaro Morata has admitted he’s under pressure following his  £70.6million move to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old Spanish striker was faced with criticism when a missed a penalty in the Community Shield against Arsenal.

When in an interview with Marca if the price-tag was weighing on him, Morata replied: ‘I admit it’s a very big amount, but I have the personality to play quietly and go my way.

‘I have had only two pre-season games, 15 competitive minutes and a missed penalty… and they’re already killing me, so I know what’s ahead.

‘It is the price that must be paid for such a large transfer. And it’s something that motivates me and makes me work harder every day. I know twice as many people are paying attention to me.’

Morata who’s not going to let the fans criticism come in between him also revealed that he will repay them with more than 20 goals in the new Premier League season.

‘I want to score more than 20. It’s my job. But it is not an obsession for me ahead of winning titles for the team. For example, when I was with Juventus I did not score more than 20 goals.

‘But I won all the titles except for the Champions League. I have scored 15 or 16 goals and won titles. And other strikers have scored 35 and not won anything.’

Jamie Vardy’s brace appeared to have Leicester on course for victory at Arsenal but Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud stole the points.

Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud came off the bench snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for Arsenal, who opened the 2017-18 Premier League season with a topsy-turvy 4-3 thriller against Leicester City.

Record signing Alexandre Lacazette handed the ideal start to boss Arsene Wenger, back at Emirates Stadium for the first time since signing his much-debated two-year contract extension, by opening the scoring after 94 seconds, but matters quickly threatened to unravel.

Wenger’s gamble to field a back three featuring one recognised centre-back collapsed in a display of complete defensive incompetence. Shinji Okazaki was the initial beneficiary with a fifth-minute equaliser.

England striker Jamie Vardy, who was heavily linked with Arsenal 12 months ago, scored a brace either side of a Danny Welbeck leveller that showed Arsenal’s rearguard to be equally dreadful from open play and set-piece situations.

But it was a different story at the other end as Wenger called upon additional firepower in the form of Aaron Ramsey and Giroud to turn the match around inside the final seven minutes and ward off a return to last season’s febrile atmosphere of protest on home turf – at least for the time being.

Lacazette went into the match having scored six times on the past four opening days in Ligue 1 with Lyon and he quickly improved an impressive record by dispatching Mohamed Elneny’s inviting cross beyond Kasper Schmeichel.

Any notion of an untroubled statement of Arsenal’s Premier League title intentions was disabused 160 seconds later when Petr Cech made a horrible hash of pursuing Vardy’s cross to the far post from a short corner, an unmarked Harry Maguire nodded back across goal and Okazaki headed in.

Debutant Maguire was making his presence felt in both boxes and the centre-back made a brave block when Welbeck tried to convert Mesut Ozil’s 22nd-minute cutback.

Welbeck’s effort at the end of a jinking run was hacked out of the Leicester goalmouth but the visitors went ahead against the run of play before the half hour.

Marc Albrighton pounced on a loose ball and centred for Vardy to punish more comical Arsenal defending – Okazaki might then have doubled his tally when he headed narrowly wide in the 33rd minute.

With murmurs of discontent growing, Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac combined to present Welbeck with a welcome tap-in during first-half stoppage time.

Cech was at full stretch to tip Riyad Mahrez’s 56th minute strike over but Vardy was allowed a free run at the Algeria international’s resulting corner and glanced in to restore Leicester’s lead.

Arsenal’s sustained excellent attacking play made their defensive frailties all the more galling. Welbeck bewitched the Leicester backline to delicately play in Hector Bellerin, who was brilliantly denied by Schmeichel.

Fuchs did enough to distract Ramsey when the Wales international powered wide from Lacazette’s cross and tensions from the stands seemed to have spilled on to the pitch when Ozil lashed into the side netting with 16 minutes remaining.

It was left to Ramsey to drag the masses back in Arsenal’s favour.

Handball claims against Ozil went unpunished before an 83rd-minute corner that was worked out to Xhaka, whose raking ball found Ramsey stealing around Wilfred Ndidi for a clinical finish.

Schmeichel then suffered the same cruel fortune as Cech before him – saving superbly after Lacazette zig-zagged through a defence that allowed Giroud to head in the corner via the crossbar for the FA Cup and Community Shield holders.

THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 1
Mr. Olundare jacobs felt a pang of guilt as he stepped out of the blackmaria. As a kid who was brought up in the barracks, he used to see many criminals being transported in that van to the prison and he would always say “why would someone waste his life in criminal activities when he knows fully well that one day, he would be transported in this dark, poor ventilated van whose only route is from court to prison, prison to court? Surely, i would never step my feet in those vans”. How would he have known that 25years later, he would be the one inside the van? Well, as a child he didn’t know that someday he was going to point a gun at his wife.
The thought of his wife made tears to drop from his eyes. Their relationship was the type only obtainable in movies and romance stories. He remembered vividly how she married him despite pressure from her family to marry the promising soldier officer Paul Adeyemi. He was just an odinary civil servant back then in the lagos state ministry of information and communication. He had met the beautiful miss grace briggs when she was posted to the ministry as a youth corper. He never used to believe in love at first sight but grace changed his perception, not only about love but life in its entirety. Mr. Jacobs doesn’t even know the part of her body he loves the most. Was it her radiant hair which is as black as Taye Taiwo’s face or her lips which was wonderfully placed on her face just below her pointed but beautiful nose. He doesn’t even know If it was her shiny eyes that could give the stars a run for their money or her fair skin which sparkles in sunlight. In jacobs own words “grace, even monalisa would be jealous of you”.
Back then, he would always use his meagre salary to take her out for lunch until immediately after she completed her youth service when they decided to tie the nuptial knots. It only took the effect of the scorching sun to bring him out from his journey through the land of emotional el dorado. He had just stepped out of the van. He was standing taller and well built than the two policemen who where escorting him. He was very dark, infact his mates in university used to call him blacky which is one of the reasons he married someone who would complement him. His hairs were unkept, what do you expect from someone who was just coming out of a police cell?
Even though he has not been proven guilty of any crime, he has been sleeping in the police cell for over a month. The law stipulates that no citizen should spend more than 24hours in police custody except sentenced by a law court but it seems the law and the police force are enemies. Its ironic since the police are supposed to protect the law. He looked at his environment, it was like every other typical trial court in nigeria. He took a deep breathe but just as he was about to enter the court, he sighted paul Adeyemi. He just shook his head and walked into the court room.
“Court rise!!!” The bailiff shouted and everybody stood up. Justice clement okoro walked into the court room. He was an old man who was probably close to retirement. If you place his age anywhere around 70years, you just might be right because he actually looks younger anytime he smiles and older when he frowns. Today was one of his bad days as he was not smiling. His facial expression could be read in a thousand different ways but mr. Jacobs read it as, “Am tired of this job, always sentencing people to death”. Truly, Justice Okoro had sentenced countless people to death so when jacobs saw him, he knew his freedom was just wishful thinking.
The case was announced by the court administrator who also announced the presence of all the witnesses.
“The case before this court is a murder case filed by the nigeria police force against Mr. Olundare jacobs” he carefully read.
“Mr olundare jacobs, what is your plea? Are you guilty or not?” the judge asked.
“Not guilty” Jacobs answered non-chalantly.
I just hope he is right, i cant afford to slam a ‘life imprisonement’ sentence. Justice Okoro kept his thoughts to himself. He called on the prosecutor for his opening statement.
A fairly old man stood up. Looking at his face, you’ll think he is a septagenerian but he’s just in his early fifties. If you say he was old due to his family problems, you probabaly would be right because his only daughter chose to marry someone whom he had no iota of trust for. Despite his disaproval, she still went ahead to marry him. Your guess is as good as mine, his name is Barrister Jim Briggs, father of Mrs grace jacobs whose death, they stand in court today to find the culprit.
“mmm mmmm.. .Barrister Briggs cleared his throat.
Fellow citizens of this nation, we are here today the 21st of october 2013 to prove that Mr. Olundare Jacobs standing here is responsible for the death of his wife, Mrs. Grace Jacobs”.
He hates calling his daughter Grace Jacobs, he rather prefers to call her Grace Briggs but for the sake of the court, he called her the name. He allowed the information he just dropped to sink into the ears of his audience before he continued.
“On the 15th of august 2013 at about 10:30pm, Mr. Olundare Jacobs allegedly shot and killed his wife. Such people should not be allowed to walk in the soceity as they are bad eggs that can currupt the good ones. I hereby pray this court to serve justice in this case. This is my case”. He bowed and left for his seat.
Justice okoro smiled and called on the defendant. He had known Barrister Briggs to be a man that doesn’t beat around the bush. He always makes his points brief but very strong.
The defendant was a young lawyer probably in his early thirties. His name is Barrister Clement Obong. He was a light complexioned young man with a well trimmed moustache. He fell in the category of people that were created on God’s bad day. He was a very ‘brief creature’. That was the term his clique in the University used to refer to his shortness. Olundare jacobs who happens to be the accused was also a member of that clique. He got up and looked at Barrister Briggs, he then gave a deadly smile. He had history with Barrister Briggs.
Immediately after being called to bar, the young lawyer Clement Obong had gone into Barrister Briggs Firm to work as a lawyer in the firm but he was turned down. He can still remember Barrister Briggs exact words to him.
“young man, this is not a chamber for jokers with wig on the head, this is a chamber for real lawyers”.
Barrister clement obong has a point to prove. To show that he is not a joker with wigs on the head but a real lawyer. He arranged his wig and stepped forward.

#THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 2
“My lord, barrister clement started. This case as convincing as it might look is a mere case of slander against my client.
1. The case holds no water as contrary to their claims that my client shot and killed his wife, there is no autopsy report to back that claim. Infact the body of the victim is nowhere to be found.
2. My client, Mr Olundare Jacobs, after thorough scrutiny by members of his community was chosen along with few men in his community to save lives. He is a member of the vigilante group in his community so i see no reason why he should take the life of his wife.
Homicide is a very strong accusation and i dont expect the testimony of one man to hold weight. I hereby pray this court to strike out this case in the name of justice” he concluded his statement.
“once a joker, always a joker” Barrister Briggs muttered under his breathe. He doesn’t have time to show his swagg, he just had to make sure his daughter’s killer was sent behind bars else he would have showed Barrister clement that the SAN at the end of his name isn’t just a mere fuss.
“can we have the first witness please” justice okoro spoke to Barrister Briggs.
“The first witness is Paul Adeyemi. If you are here please come forward” Barrister briggs called him forward.
A youngman in the same age bracket as jacobs stood up. He was also very dark. It seems as if his occupation made him stand under the scorching sun everyday. He was tall and well built.
***************************
15th August 2013 Lagos State ministry of information and communication organized a dinner night. Mrs. Grace Jacobs being a fluent speaker of english was chosen to be the anchor of the programme. As early as 3:00pm that day, she was already dressed up and was about to go to the event when her husband, Olundare Jacobs came in. Jacobs has been unlucky as a retrenchment programme of the state government had caught up with him. Since then, he had failed to find himself a job so he was always at home, coupled with the fact that he had become a vigilante.
“Miss universe. Jacobs complemented his wife and she just smiled.
Where are you going dressed like this?”
“Darling, you remember that dinner night i told you about? She paused, waiting for an answer. Jacobs nodded his head to signify that he remembered.
The dinner night is slated for today”. She concluded.
“Thought you just called it a dinner night, what kind of dinner night starts by 3:00pm” he asked, looking at his wrist watch.
“You know this is my first time of anchoring this kind of event, the chairman of the central planning committee requested that i should be there by 3:00pm so he can fill me in on how to proceed with the event. I’m even late” she narrated.
“so i guess i will just be the only one in this house. Just make sure you dont move your lips in those your Sekxy manner, those men can be funny atimes”
“i promise, i wont even smile” she said and laughed away.
10:20PM THAT SAME DAY Grace walked into the house tired. The dinner night was a huge success and everybody attributed the success to her. She even switched off her phone when the congratulatory calls where getting too much.
She trew her bag on the couch and was about going into the bedroom when the voice of her husband startled her.
“Where are you coming from?” he asked.
She switched on the light to behold her husband holding a gun. She was shocked but then, she remembered that armed robbers had been giving them sleepless nights in the street so she thought her husband being a vigilante had chased armed robbers that day.
“what are you talking about? I told you i was attending a dinner night”
“Dinner night!! So which of the directors did you sleep with or was it the commisioner himself?” Jacobs accused.
“I dont have time for this, am very tired” grace said and was about going into the bedroom when her husband spoke.
“Dont even take another step”.
She turned back and saw her husband pointing a gun at her. She was shocked. Her husband had never laid a finger on her not to talk of pointing a gun at her. Yes he had lost his Job but that doesn’t mean he has lost his mind.
“I was in that establishment before you. I know how it is done. Those big men choose people to spend the night with. I gave you the benefit of doubt but you failed me”
What are you talking about, i never slept with anyone” Grace shouted.
“Put the gun down” a voice spoke. They both turned their heads and saw Paul Adeyemi, pointing a gun at Jacobs.
“We can settle this without…. Kpaa” Grace was trying to complete her statement but she was shot. She fell down to the ground.

#THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 3
Paul Adeyemi stood inside the dock, a bible was brought since he was a christain and he took an oath placing his hand on the bible.
I, paul Adeyemi do swear that the evidence i shall give shall be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. So help me God.
Barrister Briggs walked up to the witness.
“how are you doing Mr.paul?” he asked him.
“Am fine thank you” paul replied.
“oh, i can see you are really fine. So i was told you were the one who alerted the police and paramedics about the incident at the house of Mr. Jacobs. As a first hand witness, what really happened?” he asked.
“I was going to my house that faithful day, and i decided to branch jacobs house. When i got there, i saw him pointing a gun at his wife but before i could make any move he shot her” paul explained.
“And what evidence do you have of this claim” barrister briggs asked.
“A picture. I took a snapshot of jacobs pointing a gun at his wife” he replied.
Barrister Briggs turned and walked back to his table while still talking.
“At this juncture, i’ll like to present my first evidence” he brought out a picture. Exhibit1 was bodly written at the back. In this photo, jacobs can be seen pointing a gun at his wife. He passed the picture to the court administrator who passed it to the judge. The picture was enhanced using a projector for the whole court to see. Barrister Briggs then turned and faced paul.
“Do you know of any reason why Mr. Jacobs could kill his wife?” he asked.
“He is a lost Man, he lost his job while his wife still has hers, thats why he is transferring his anger to the wife” paul answered.
“Thank you mr. Paul, you have been very helpfull” Barrister Briggs said,he turned to the judge
“i rest my case”he said and walked to his seat.
The judge turned to Barrister clement
“would you like to cross-examine the witness?”
“Yes my lord” he said and stood up.
Mr.paul can you please tell the court the kind of relationship you have with the jacobs family?
“objection my lord, the question is irrelevant to this case” Barrister briggs shouted.
“objection overuled” the judge came to the rescue.
Go on barrister.
“So, Mr. Paul, whats your relationship with the jacobs”.
“I’m a family friend and am very close to the couple” he replied.
“Any proof? Perhaps group pictures, or text messages. Do you even even have their phone number?”.
Paul thought of his next answer before answering.
“No”
“Good, so it has been established that you are not so close to the family, so what took you to their house at about past 10 in the night?”
“like i said, i was passing and i decided to check on them” paul replied.
“Okay, so correct me if am wrong. You went into the house, you saw Jacobs pointing a gun at his wife and instead of saving her you decided to snap pictures?” Barrister clement asked.
“i needed the pictures for evidence” paul replied.
“Evidence? So you planned on uploading it on facebook? There was laughter in the court and when they were finally brought to Order, Barrister clement continued. Forgive me Mr. Paul, but i just want to know, do you have any personal vendetta against Mr. Jacobs?
“No” paul answered.
Barrister clement went to his bag and brought out a white paper. He showed paul.
“Is this your signature” he asked.
“looks like it but signatures can be forged” paul answered.
“Dont worry about that. Few years back you asked for the deceased hands in marriage but she refused and you threatened her that if you do not get her then nobody else will. This is the statement she wrote in the police station. It only took the intervention of your boss in the army for you to sign” Barrister clement passed the paper to the court administrator. He then faced the judge
“i rest my case” he said and went back to his seat.
Even Justice okoro was impressed. He faced Barrister Briggs
“any other witness”.
“yes, my lord, i would like to question the accused” Barrister Briggs said.
“Mr. Jacobs, i would like you to give me straight forward answers to this my few questions and please be audible” Barrister Briggs advised.
“Did you kill your wife?”
Jacobs was shocked. He had expected barrister Briggs to start from the light questions but he just went straight to the point.
“Answer the question young man, did you kill your wife?” Barrister Briggs was getting emotional.
“No” Jacobs replies.
“Did you point a gun at your wife? I mean a loaded gun”.
“No”
The court was shocked, less than five minutes ago they saw a picture of him pointing a gun at his wife but here he was denying the fact.
“Are you saying that picture was photo-shopped?” Barrister Briggs asked. Do you know the reppercusion if you lie to this court?”
“Objection my lord, he is pressing my clent to admit to a crime he didn’t commit” Barrister clement shouted
“Objection overuled, you may proceed barrister” justice Okoro shouted.
“So you are saying the picture was photo-shopped”
“No, am saying the gun i pointed at my wife wasn’t loaded, it was empty. Infact, as a vigilante, we always submit our bullets to our commander. We only collect the bullets in times of emergency”
“so you are saying, you didn’t kill your wife, who killed her then? Barrister Briggs asked.
Jacobs took a deap breathe and then spoke.
“Paul Adeyemi”

#THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 4
The whole court was shocked by jacobs’ revelation. The whole case was taking a new dimention.
“Do you know how preposterous your accusation sound? You mean he shot your wife and you just stood there?” Barrister Briggs asked.
“Immediately he killed my wife, he charged at me and hit me with his gun and i became unconcious” Jacobs narrated
“I see.
Your counselor just said Mr.paul has a personal vendetta against you so why didn’t he kill you? I mean, you are the only thing standing between him and Grace according to your lawyer, so why did he choose to kill Grace instead of you?”
“I don’t know” jacobs replied.
“you also said all bullets are submitted to your commandant untill during emergencies but according to reports there was an armed robbery attack that night which means you were with bullet so how about the truth? How did you feel when you killed my daughter?”
“Objection my lord, false charge!! My client has not been proven guilty” barrister Clement shouted
“Objection sustained, Barrister lets wait till that is proven”. Justice Okoro said.
“i rest my case” barrister Briggs said. He brought out a white hankerchief from his pocket and used it to wipe the already forming tears in his eyes. He sniffed inaudibly and went back to his seat.
Whispers of eyaa, kai and the likes, were heard in the crowd.
“Would you like to cross-examine him?” Justice Okoro asked Barrister Clement.
“No, your honour.” he replied.
The judge turned to Barrister Briggs
“your next witness please” He said.
By this time, Barrister Briggs has already regained composure.
He stood up and called.
“Mr. Fidelis Ogbu, please come out”
A middle aged man who was probably just a few centimetres fatter than the ‘letter I’ came out. He went straight into the dock.
“Mr. Fedelis, what kind of relationship do you have with Mr. Jacobs?” Barrister Briggs asked.
“Ah!! Na my paddy o, na me with am the follow drink for junction. Infact ehm, e dey even carry me go him house, madam go come cook better food for us. Kai, madam na good woman o” fidelis spoke.
“so were you with Jacobs on the day of the incident?”
“yesso, na me with am been drink that day sef. E call me around past 3 say make we go drink. As we come the drink na, him come tell me say e go kill him wife today. I think say na play him the play o. Around past 4 we come drink finish. By then, my friend don drink 5bottles. I come leave am go my house o, na the next day naim i come hear say e don kill him wife” fidelis narrated.
“Why did he talk about killing his wife”
“him say as him wife the go work say she the follow men for office, say him go kill her.
“thank you mr. Fidelis” barrister Briggs said and walked back to his seat.
“Would you like to cross-examine the witness?” Justice Okoro asked Barrister Clement.
“Yes, your honour” Barrister clement said and stood up. He opened his bag and brought out three pictures.
“Mr. Fidelis, you claimed to have seen Grace right?” Barrister clement asked.
“oga lawyer i don see the woman plenty times, my friend the carry me go him house” fidelis explained.
“Good, so which of this three pictures is grace’s picture” he asked and gave the three pictures to Fidelis to choose.
After carefull observation, Fidelis chose one and gave to Barrister clement.
“Are you sure?” Clement asked.
“oga na she be that” Fidelis replied. Barrister clement then showed the picture to the judge. The picture was once again enhanced.
“According to our ‘self acclaimed’ friend of Mr. Jacobs, this is Mrs. Grace. But i tell you what, this is the picture of Genevieve Nnaji. So our friend here doesn’t even know mrs. Grace. The question is, are we going to listen to the testimony of a drunk?
“Objection my lord, the Barrister is using foul words in the court.
“Objection sustained” Justice Okoro shouted. Barrister, vulgar words are not allowed in this court.
“I guess all am trying to say is, even if my client truly said what Fidelis has accused him of, then he probably said it under the influence of alcohol. But there is a difference of seven hours between past 3 and past 10. So am sure the alcohol must have cleared from my client’s face even before his wife came back so he wouldn’t carry out an action he had said when still under the influence of alcohol. I rest my case” Barrister clement concluded.

#THE_MURDER_CASE EPISODE 5

The sound of siren blaring in the atmosphere would give you the impression that the president of the federal republic of nigeria was passing, but why would the president pass through a slum?
Neighbours had gathered to catch a glimpse of the ‘VIP’ that was disturbing their peaceful night rest. They were shocked to see an ambulance and a police van parked in front of Mr. Jacobs house.
Mr. Jacobs was a peace lover who was known by all and sundry. He was one of the few men who had courageously stood up and volunteered himself to fight against the incessant armedrobbery attacks in the area.
The neighbours couldn’t go close to the area for fear of police but some few people were saying that armedrobbers had attacked the family and shot someone.
It was only when they saw Mr.Jacobs coming out with handcuffs that they knew it was more than an armedrobbery attack.
He was bundled into the police van while a body carried on a stretcher was dropped inside the ambulance. It was covered with a white linen.
The Police van drove away while the Ambulance drove away via a seperate route. A small car followed the ambulance.
*****************************
“Dr. Amos, please come to the dock” Barrister clement called out.
A smart looking young man walked to the dock.
“How are you feeling Dr. Amos?” Barrister clement asked.
“Like never before” he replied.
“Great! So you were the head of the medical team that went to the house of Mr. Jacobs that day. Anything you would want the court to hear?” Barrister clement asked.
“As you must have heared, the ambulance conveying the corpse was involved in a ghastly accident and it caught fire. Before then however, i was able to remove the bullet from the patient’s body” Dr. Amos explained.
“Oh!! That reminds me” Barrister clement said and walked to his bag. He brought out a transparent polyethene bag.
“Inside this leather bag is the bullet that hit Mrs. Grace.
See, i’m not a millitary personnel so i took this bullet to the soldier base and i was told that this is a Soviet 5.45x39mm millitary grade bullet. The question is, where would an odinary vigilante get this kind of bullet? Although am sure a soldier officer has access to such bullets” he paused a little bit for his information to pierce the heart of his listeners.
“Any other thing you would want this court to hear?” he asked Doctor Amos.
“yes, one more thing. When i was examining the victim, i discovered the bullet pierced her at the side of her abdomen. I dont know if that will help”
“Sure,it will help alot” Barrister clement said and turned to face the court.
According to Mr.paul, the deceased was facing her husband who was pointing a gun at his wife while he walked in through the door. He was at the left hand side of Mrs. Grace and the right hand side of Mr. Jacobs.
Again, i am not a millitary personnel but i dont know of any bullet that can carry out a parabolic kind of motion. If my client truly shot the gun, the bullet would have pierced the deceased at the Front and not on the side. I rest my case” he smiled and went back to his seat.
“Would you like to cross-examine the witness?” Justice Okoro asked.
“Yes, your honour” Barrister briggs answered and stood up. He was with a picture.
“Dr. Amos, please look carefully at this picture, are your the one in this picture?” Barrister briggs asked.
Dr. Amos took a brief look at the picture. It was his graduation party. He snapped with Barrister clement and Mr. Jacobs. They all graduated from the same university.
“yes am the one” Dr. Amos replied.
“So you are friends with Mr. Jacobs?”
“Yes” Dr. Amos replied.
Barrister Briggs then turned and faced the court.
“As a boy growing up, i knew how friendship could be. I could do anything for my friends. How are we sure that Dr. Amos here is not trying to save his friend?”
“It is unethical, i can never do such” Dr. Amos cut in.
“But is there a possibility that someone can do such a thing?” Barrister Briggs asked.
“Someone, but definitely not me” Dr. Amos replied.
“My lord, Dr. Amos just admitted that it is possible for someone to lie just to cover up his friend’s act. I hereby rest my case” he said.
Justice Okoro looked at his wristwatch, the court session was already taking longer than he had expected. He decided he was going to adjourn the case after the next witness.
“anyother witness? He asked.
“Yes your honour” barrister clement shouted.
My last witness is Mrs. Grace Jacobs, please come out”.
The whole court was shocked. Can a ghost testify?
Barrister clement just looked at Barrister Briggs and smiled mischievously.

This summer's crackdowns on illicit bitcoin activity has been considerable, but the dramatic surge in the currency's overall value poses even more challenges. (Associated Press/File)

The value of the shadowy digital currency known as bitcoin has jumped to record highs this month, sending shock waves through America’s defense and intelligence agencies, which fear its growth signals a surge in use by terrorists, drug kingpins, white-collar criminals and Russian cybercriminals who don’t want to be tracked by the world’s governments.
This summer, the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Department of Justice and scores of European illicit finance law enforcement officials have fought back with a wave of operations against Russian cybercriminals. Late last month, they shuttered AlphaBay and Hansa — two of the biggest “dark web” contraband marketplaces rife with the illegal sale of guns, drugs and other forbidden merchandise.
In an even more startling sign of the battle raging around bitcoin, a FinCEN-led international illicit financing task force arrested a Russian “mastermind of organized crime” on a small beachside village in northern Greece less than two weeks ago.
Alexander Vinnik, who is accused of laundering more than $4 billion worth of illegal funds using bitcoin accounts, operated BTC-e, one of the world’s oldest bitcoin exchanges.
U.S. authorities accuse Mr. Vinnik of facilitating crimes including drug trafficking, public corruption, hacking, fraud, identity theft and tax refund fraud.
“Just as new computer technologies continue to change the way we engage each other and experience the world, so too will criminals subvert these new technologies to serve their own nefarious purposes,” Brian Stretch, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of California, said about BTC-e.

Mr. Vinnik was arrested amid worldwide cyberhavoc triggered by massive WannaCry’s Bitcoin ransomware attacks in May and June. The attacks forced a production shutdown at Renault auto plans, crashed computers at Britain’s National Health Service and targeted India’s ATM network.
In Britain, screenshots on social media showed National Health Service computer screens with messages demanding $300 worth of Bitcoin to regain access to files.
While cyberattacks have increasingly targeted businesses around the world, bitcoin ransom attacks, especially in the U.S., are skyrocketing. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported it received 2,673 ransomware incidents last year — nearly double the figure from 2014.
Despite Moscow’s denials of meddling in the U.S. presidential election, major investigations also continue into Russian hackers suspected of using cyberattacks to undermine or influence the vote.
A little-noticed provision of the law passed by Congress and signed by President Trump this month imposing new sanctions for North Korea, Iran and Russia mandated the formulation of a national security strategy to combat “the financing of terrorism and related forms of illicit finance.” Among those forms, according to the text of the law, were “so-called cryptocurrencies [and] other methods that are computer, telecommunications, or internet-based” for cybercrime.
Bitcoin’s wild rise
A creation of the digital age that reflects the libertarian impulses of much of the online community, bitcoins were launched in 2009 by a shadowy figure named Satoshi Nakamoto, who has never publicly come forward. Many analysts have suggested that he never existed.
The currency’s unique power comes from its independency and lack of reliance on any single government for its legitimacy. Unlike regular money, digital or cryptocurrencies are not connected to banks or governments and allow anonymous purchases or money exchanges completely outside the realm of banks, credit card firms or other third parties. Instead, the coins exist because users “mine” them by lending their computing power to verify other users’ transactions.
This anonymity has brought instability to bitcoin values. Over the past month, however, prices are up more than 30 percent. According to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index, a bitcoin traded for more than $3,000 — a record high — this past weekend.
The surge follows a spinoff another cryptocurrency, Bitcoin Cash.
Anticipation of the spinoff sent bitcoin values spiraling last month as market analysts predicted a “civil war” with the rival. The opposite appears to have occurred with the spinoff driving up bitcoin’s value.
Market analysts say the value surge demonstrated bitcoin’s resiliency in addition to a growing public appetite for cryptocurrencies.
On Thursday, bitcoins traded at $3,439.55 per coin, driving the overall market value of all existing bitcoins to $56 billion.
Adding bitcoin’s overall value to other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Litecoin and the total market capitalization of such digital cash is roughly $120 billion.
America’s defense and intelligence agencies, FinCEN in particular, pride themselves on the U.S. government’s ability to track and disrupt the illicit financial networks that work through traditional banks and finance channels.
This summer’s crackdowns on illicit bitcoin activity has been considerable, but the dramatic surge in the currency’s overall value poses even more challenges.
Yaya Fanusie, a former counterterrorism analyst for the CIA, is credited with identifying the first verifiable instance of a terrorist organization attempting to use bitcoin to raise funds. He now runs analysis for the Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and told The Washington Times in an interview that the increased volume of bitcoin trading in itself is not the concern.
“The national security concern is not that criminals will use this type of technology — they use all technologies,” Mr. Fanusie said. “The policy question is: How do you deal with something that governments can’t control?”
He said the U.S. needs to engage with the cryptocurrencies as much as possible and pointed to Defense Department procurement experiments already underway.
“Bitcoin is like a rebellious teenager,” he said. “It wants to do its own thing. So what do you do? Do you ban it? No, you want to have a good relationship with it and influence how it develops.”

As a young woman growing up poor in extremely rural Welch, West Virginia, all Jeannette Walls could think about was moving to New York to escape her alcoholic father and eccentric mother. The family had moved countless times before, running from town to town as soon as the creditors came knocking and the money had run out.
New York, the great Gotham, was calling, but her domineering father, Rex, would have none of it, requiring her to all but escape one day after high school.
Her first New York writing job was as a celebrity takedown artist — ironic for a young woman who had grown up without a television.
“I really don’t care about celebrities, [so] I don’t know how I ended up writing about them,” Ms. Walls told The Washington Times at a District stop on a recent press tour.
While nonplussed with her job, she knew that she absolutely had to write. But what?
“I love journalism, I love truth-telling, [but] I was doing something else,” she said of her life in the Big Apple. “And I was kind of ready to dig out of that.”

The story needing telling was staring her in the face.
In 2005 Ms. Walls published “The Glass Castle,” a memoir detailing the transient life she and her siblings led as her parents, Rex and Rose Mary, shuttled them about the country until they finally “settled” in West Virginia, where Rex would spend drink-fueled nights pouring over his plans to build the edifice of the title for his family to be completely off the grid.
“The irony, some would say hypocrisy, was that I’m chasing all the truths out there but not my own,” Ms. Walls said.
The book is now a film from Lionsgate, starring Oscar-winner Brie Larson as the on-screen adult Jeannette, Woody Harrelson as Rex and Naomi Watts as Rose Mary.
Ms. Walls didn’t spare the reader from her father’s drinking, his overbearing nature and refusal to relinquish control as his children grew into adulthood. Mr. Harrelson, in his best performance in years, brings a fearsomeness to Rex but also an undeniable love for his family despite his many flaws.
“Honestly, readers were a lot smarter than I am, and the readers kept saying ‘I think your father was mentally ill,’” Ms. Walls, who now lives about two hours from the District in rural Virginia with her author husband, said. “I’d read a couple of books on mental illness, and I think they were right: He was trying to self-mediate. A lot of alcoholics are trying to self-medicate.”
One of the reasons Ms. Walls said she left the celebrity business was not only a wish to be more authentic in her reporting, but also how sharing stories, she believes, “makes people feel safer.”
Even, it seems, some rather high-profile people. Ms. Walls requires asking an unnamed celeb an “insightful question” about her dress when the starlet asked the interrogator to switch off the mic.
“She said, ‘I wanted to thank you for writing about your father as candidly as you did. My father is also an alcoholic, and your book helped me come to terms’” with her own family situation, Ms. Walls recalls, adding the famous actress said she also handed “The Glass Castle” to several of her friends.
“That’s what it’s all about. It’s not about fame, it’s about sharing stories and making people feel safer,” Ms. Walls says now.
Despite her rather unusual upbringing and difficult young adulthood, Ms. Walls outwardly seems to bear few of the scars of those formative experiences. During this interview she laughs loudly and often, belaying an un-self-conscious manner and nary a trace of bitterness.
Her mother, Rose Mary, even now lives on a separate small home on the property Ms. Walls shares with her husband.
“Not ‘with’ me, because I’m not a saint. I built a place for her out back,” Ms. Walls said, laughing again so much that she nearly doubles sideways. “She makes me crazy sometimes.”
Rose Mary’s artworks are seen in “The Glass Castle,” and the artist even jested to her daughter that the works might “overshadow” everything else in the film.
“She was calling my older sister Lori and going, ‘Who is this Naomi Watts character anyway?’” Ms. Walls said when the Oscar-nominated Australian actress was cast to play her in the film. “Then she saw the trailer. She was elated.”
Mr. Harrelson also got so into character as Rex that Ms. Walls recalls hearing the “Cheers” actor saying things that her own father had — but which were not in the script.
“That’s the degree to which he got inside my father’s head,” she said. “It was astonishing.”
An early scene shows Rex not so much teaching his young daughter to swim as letting go of her in a pool, whether she is ready or not.
“I used to be afraid of water. I’m not anymore,” Ms. Walls said. “Did it work? Yes. Would I recommend it other people? No.”
While Rex is seen frequently drunk in “The Glass Castle,” Ms. Walls now believes that he likely was attempting to drown his demons.
“One of the things that I hope comes from this story is to continue this conversation” about mental health awareness, she said, adding that her father was one of a long line of so-called mad creative geniuses in the vein of Vincent Van Gosh, William Blake and countless others. “Can we harness these demons rather than trying to kill them?”
“The Glass Castle” was filmed in Welch, West Virginia, not far from the actual Walls family home. Ms. Walls recalls initial feelings of trepidation returning to the town — in an area ravaged by the decline of the coal industry — she escaped as a young woman.
“I was the lowest of the low,” she said, adding her family name was used as a punch line by their neighbors. “The more I go there [now], it’s just a place,” Ms. Walls said. “It’s just a place where there’s a lot of people who are down on their luck.”
Ms. Walls is quick to point out that in reportage such as her own book, truth and accuracy are not one and the same.
“The trouble with characters and stereotypes is they’re accurate but they’re not the whole story,” she said. “And that’s why I felt I had to tell a book-length explanation of who and what my parents were.”
Ms. Walls advices memoir-writers now to spare nothing in the name of truthfulness, and not to worry about what the people in the manuscript might think about it.
“I hope I was never cruel in my previous line of work, but by definition, when you write about celebrities, you’re either raising them up or pushing them down,” she said of her former career in New York. “I’m not interested in making fun of people anymore, I’m interested in compassion.”

THE agitations for self-determination in Nigeria have taken another alarming dimension with calls for the country to be split into five entities to be collectively known as the United Republics of Nigeria.
This came as the Convener of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Chief Edwin Clark cautioned against the proposed declaration of Republic of Niger Delta on October 1, 2017, as a result of Federal Government’s alleged apathy to the peace process in the region.
The call for the division of the country was said to have become necessary in order to avert the possibility of violent agitations.
This position was taken by a coalition of militant groups under the auspices of the Reformed Egbesu Assembly, REF.

The General Officer Commanding, REF, Tony Alagbakereowei, who spoke on behalf of the group said: “We reaffirm our collective resolve to actualise the Republic of the Niger Delta, RONDEL, which had been proclaimed in 1966 taking into cognisance the reality that there is nothing yet binding us as a people rather than the crude oil and gas in the Niger Delta.

“We call on the British Prime Minister, President Donald Trump of the United States and the United Nations, UN, to conduct a referendum for the peaceful dissolution of the Nigerian states into Arewa Islamic Republic, Biafra Republic, Oduduwa Republic, Republic of the Niger Delta,RONDEL, and the Republic of the Middle Belt to be collectively known and addressed as the United Republics of Nigeria based on the principles of non-exodus and non-violence.
“We strongly restate our commitment and dedication to this model as it is the irreducible minimum acceptable political requirement for the ethnic nationalities of the Niger Delta to remain in the Nigerian state. We consider this as the best option to avoid the impending humanitarian crisis of a full-blown Nigeria civil war and armed revolution which will be foisted upon the African Continent and the world at large.”
The stance of REF which was not in isolation represented a microsome of the dissenting opinions from groups in the Niger Delta on the state of the nation, especially the Niger Delta crisis
