Real Madrid have written a £637million release clause into Isco’s
contract after the midfielder penned a new four-year deal with the club.
Isco has signed a new four-year deal at Real Madrid
The
Spanish international had less than 12 months to run on his existing
deal at the Bernabeu and had been sensationally linked with a move to
rivals Barcelona as well as Premier League giants Manchester United and
Arsenal.
However, according to AS, Isco has
signed a new four-year deal with the option of a further year following
his man of the match display against Manchester United in the Super Cup.
Real
Madrid have conducted lengthy negotiations with the playmaker and AS
claim they’ve inserted an astronomical €700m (£647m) release clause into
the Spaniard’s new deal.

Zinedine
Zidane’s side are clearly wary having seen Neymar leave Barcelona for
Paris Saint-Germain after the French club met the Brazilian’s £198m
clause.
Isco replaced Gareth Bale in Madrid’s
starting line-up last season and his new contract will fuel speculation
that the Welshman is on his way out of the Bernabeu.
Bale
maintains he’s happy to stay with Los Blancos but, with the possible
arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, he could find himself further down
the pecking order.
