Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated
emphatically that midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not face the
exit doors at the Emirates stadium this summer.
Chamberlain has 12 months left on his contract at the Emirates, and he is a major target for Premier League champions Chelsea.
Chelsea
coach Antonio Conte has reportedly told the club chiefs to make an
offer for the Englishman as he wants the 23-year-old to bolster his
midfield.
Chamberlain could be tempted to leave
the Emirates Stadium as he would have the chance to play in the UEFA
Champions League should he make a move to Stamford Bridge.
''Yes, he is staying here. Why? Personally, because I rate him highly and he's one of the players who is on his way up.
''In the last year, he has made huge progress and personally I want him to stay here for a long time.
''I'm
convinced he will be the English player that everybody will look at in
the next two years at the end of the season,'' the Frenchman explained.
